Vero Virseda, Bárbara las Heras and Mike Yanguas are champions of the Aragón Challenger.

Sweet’ weekend for the couple Vero Virseda-Bárbara Las Heras and also for Mike Yanguas after winning the World Padel Tour Bajo Aragón Challenger.

First professional title for Vero and Bárbara

The year that the two women from Toledo and Madrid are having is totally revolutionary. True to their hard-working style, they never give a ball for lost, so everything is a battle to the end.

After a holiday break, they came to this Challenger as one of the top seeds, which meant having to debut on Thursday (in the round of 16) vs Martinez-Nogueira. A match where they started losing and after 2h 38min they finished the match with a win 6-4 / 5-7 / 3-6.

In the quarter-finals, the match against Talaván-Araújo was completed in 1h 56min after a first set 6-3 and a second where the tie break fell 6-7 (4) for us.

With long matches, Vero and Bárbara surely imagined a very close semi-final against Riera-Llaguno, but we don’t know if it would be so hard-fought that it would finally end up 6-7 (8) / 6-4 / 4-6 after 3h 25min of match in favor of the couple from Toledo and Madrid.

With several hours of padel in their legs, they would reach the final to face the local heroines: Las Gemelas Atómicas. It was going to be the second final for Vero and Barbara this year (after the Marbella Master) and they were going all out. Patiently, they found the right moments to take the match by 6-3 y 6-0. Thus, finally, the following were proclaimed champions of the World Padel Tour Bajo Aragón Challenger at 1h 26min.

With this title, the Varlion couple wins their first trophy as professionals.

Mike Yanguas wins his first title of the season

After a few weeks of rest and preparation, Mike returned with more desire than ever to the competition. He arrived at the Aragon Challenger as one of the top seeds and the responsibility that implies… From the first match, we saw a very concentrated Mike, serious on the 20×10 and knowing what he had to do at all times.

Mike was proclaimed champion without losing a single set in the entire tournament, after winning in 1/8 Vera-Bassas 6-2 / 6-2, in quarters to Víctor Ruiz-Bergamini 6-4 / 6-3 and in Semifinal to Rico-Leal 6-3 / 6-0. In the final, his former teammate Miguel Lamperti and his teammate, Jon Sanz, will be waiting for him, who did not make it easy for them, but the victory was won by Yanguas-Nieto by 6-4 / 6-4.

So, Mike Yanguas won his first title this season and continued with the good sensations achieved before the break (semifinalist of the Malaga Open).
