1993 – 1999

Varlion was born in 1993, in Argentina. A year after its existence, we opened our own factory in the city of Buenos Aires, in order to develop our own design and production, always seeking the highest quality and the best performance.

In 1995 we created the first Varlion padel racket, which was designed by the brand’s founder, Felix Regalia, on a graph paper hand raised using only rules, compasses and a pencil.

It was this same year when we were able to manufacture for the first time a padel racket with 26 cm wide front (all were 24cm) and we named it LETHAL WEAPON. Its form and its characteristics enamored to the players and it became the best seller of the moment. This was our starting point to start selling in Spain and South American countries.

1999 – 2001

Between 1999 and 2001, we moved the factory from Argentina to Spain.

This change implied a great advance in the technological investment and a revolutionary design. In these years, the first 3D molds were designed, thus achieving the first fully symmetrical padel rackets in the world.

All this generated very large qualitative changes in the materials used, the manufacturing processes began to be more automatic and perfect and we significantly improved the final quality of the product.

Thanks to this we began to distribute Varlion throughout Spain with the launch of the first Lethal Weapon Carbon, built with 100% carbon fiber.

2002 – 2005

Between 2002 and 2005, the first successors of the Lethal Weapon Carbon were launched, finally reaching the most sold padel racket in the history of padel, the mythical Lethal Weapon Carbon 3.

However, in these years there was also another launch that marked a before and after in our history: the CAÑON shape.

The first Cañon 5 marked a tendency for its technical and radical design with five windows between the frame and the core.

2006

The year 2006 was a mark in our history when we made an investment of € 2.500.000 to build a new factory of more than 3.500m2 in the city of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid). For the first time we had robotic machines for the painting and the drilling of padel rackets with numerical control. It also included a warehouse, a design department and other divisions of the company.

2007

In the year 2007 Varlion was positioned as an integral brand of padel, launching textile products, footwear and accessories for both men and women.

2008  –  2011

In 2008 the Avant and Cañon Hexagon were launched. This launching supposed the birth of the first padel rackets of the market characterized by having frame and heart with hexagonal shape and a hexagonal texture on relief in the plane.

2012

In 2012, the first launch of the brand took place in other sports, Polo and Racing.

During this year and the following, we opened several Varlion Stores (stores in which we sold the three sports: padel, polo and racing) and the brand began to be known by wider public, even outside the sports field.

2013  –  2014

The 2013 wasn’t only characterized by the 20th Anniversary of the brand, but also the birth of the brand’s next diamonds: the LW Carbon Difusor Hexagon and its companions, the Avant and Cañon.

This launch marked the beginning of the inclusion of motorsport technology in padel sport, through the mixture of construction technology, aerodynamic design and structural design.

2015 – 2017

As of 2015, we decided to commit ourselves even more to the environment and we looked for alternatives to continue maintaining quality without renouncing the care of our Ecosystem.

That is why we created the new Econaked aesthetic, with which we managed to reduce the use of paints and solvents by up to 80% by not using them to decorate the padel rackets. Now the padel rackets are shown as they are, we don’t cover their aesthetic with paintings or stickers.

2018  –  2019

This 2018 we turn 25 years of history. 25 years of innovation, research, experience, living for and for the padel.

In April of that year, the 2018/19 collection was launched with one of the greatest innovations we have ever done: manufacturing the same racket model in two different versions; a racket to play in temperatures below 25ºC (blue thermometer or letter W), and another to play in temperatures above 25ºC (red thermometer or letter S).

This innovation was applied to all the rackets of the Summum and Super Pro Range, and they can be differentiated thanks to the red or blue thermometer that they have on the plane or profile.

Without a doubt, the 2018/19 collection marked a before and after. Among other things, thanks to the creation of SUMMUM technology, a concept that encompasses two aspects: a longer grip than usual and a greater number of holes on the plane, distributed to generate a larger hitting surface and sweet spot.

This technology was also applied to a new form of padel racket, called BOURNE, born from the fusion of the Avant (teardrop) and Cañon (diamond).

It is characterized by having more power than the Avant and more control than the Cañon.

2020

The 20.1 COLLECTION was very special and with great technological innovation. Formed by the entire range of products that a player may need.

2022

The new RADIO technology is a new way of manufacturing padel rackets. Since always, all the rackets have been made in a mold, and then they are drilled to make the holes on the plane. However, with RADIO technology, the racket is already perforated from the mold itself.

The AIRFLOW technology is focused on giving greater fluidity to the weight of the air through the racket through elongated holes located between the frame and the core.

Thanks to studies carried out with specific software to measure air resistance and its passage through the holes, these perforations have been made where the highest aerodynamic coefficient is obtained.

2023

In 2023 we will be 30 years old and we continue to be a world reference thanks to the quality and innovation in the manufacture of padel rackets.

The 2023 Collection is presented with important innovations such as Aerodynamic Drilling, colored rubber or the exclusive line of our franchise player, Mike Yanguas. In addition, throughout the Premium Range we find Airflow technology, 30% more pronounced SLICE and red and black rubbers to differentiate the Summer and Winter versions.
