28 Oct PABLO LIMA WPT CHAMPION OF CANARIAS

The number two pair arrived to Canary Islands as the favorite and they both met the expectations. Our player Pablo Lima and his teammate Juani Mieres claimed the “Ciudad de Santa Lucía International Open” win by beating Miguel Lamperti and Maxi Gabriel 6-4, 6-2 and 6-2. It means third title for the “princes”, as they´re looking for catching up the leaders at the end of the season.

From the beginning Pablo and Juani proved to be more firm and trenchant, with their rivals on the defensive. Miguel and Maxi managed to save two break points in third game, then other three in the fifth but finally they couldn´t withstand pressure in 7^th, when they broke Maxi´s service and take the lead.

Then the facts contributed to the champions. Our star player played in a tremendous way, unbeatable, as his own teammate explained afterwards.

Lima and Mieres, playing the final with logical physical wear and tear after a demanding semifinal against Sanyo and Maxi, felt comfortable from the beginning, trustingly, and high-percentage of success. It was good enough to take the title and enjoy a happy Sunday.

On the other hand we want to express our gratitude to others of our players, Seba Nerone, David Gutiérrez and Ramiro Moyano, who couldn´t win but proved their effort, hard work and dedication.

Next tournament is scheduled in Valencia, on 4-10 November.
