FACU REGALIA 2nd FASTETS WITH ADDAX TEAM

Second test day for the Argentine driver at the wheel of a GP2 car in Abu Dabi, finishing 2nd in the morning and 8th at night. The team, just like Caterham Racing on Tuesday, congratulated the vice-champion in GP3 series after his performance.

Facu Regalia, from Argentina, finished second yesterday on his second test day at the wheel of a GP2 car at Yas Marina Circuit. Adrián Campos, Regalia´s manager, got him a new chance in Abu Dhabi this time driving for Barwa Addax Team. In first practice session Regalia was at high level and he ended the season as 2nd fastest – 1:49.764- even when Argentina´s driver just completed a flying lap. At night, despite he was the only driver to have only a set of new tires, he was in top-5 over the season. At the end, in his last attempt of improving, a mistake prevented him to beat his previous 1:49.373. By the end, Regalia completed 44 laps at this track.

“In the morning the session was perfect, and we knew how to improve our set-up, working hard with my engineer Emiliano. When we were on new tires, the time came easily and finished 2nd, still with small details to improve”, Regalia explained. In yesterday´s second session, he emphasized that “we were back in top-5 without problems, always testing new things. It was a shame because on my last flying lap I made a mistake and our chances to fight for pole position were over. I didn´t get used to newest-up changes and it was impossible to capitalize our options”. Regalia also pointed out that “Addax was happy with me at the end of the day. Sectors proved we were quick enough, and on the whole yesterday was positive. I feel happy with my performance as well. These days were good to put more mileage under my belt with the Dallara GP2/11. Now we need to keep working out of the car to get the budget in order to participate in GP2 next year. I´ll be back to Argentina next week”.

His most immediate commitment takes place next Monday, when Regalia will visit London to test McLaren F1 simulator. Force India and McLaren themselves want to compare Regalia and Formula 1 driver Paul di Resta, as the Scottish will test the same day. Another chance to prove his professionalism.
